Core Mat I
Prerequisites: None
Core Mat I is the foundation of the Power Piles method. Each subsequent program builds upon the information learned during this course. During this weekend you will learn to teach the beginner level mat exercises and be introducted to Power Piles teaching tools, philosophy, and teaching forumla. Every student new to Power Pilates must start with Core Mat I. Core Mat I & II are required to progress to the Comprehensive program.
Upon registration you will recieve a Classical Piles Mat Video. Use this video to practice and become familiar with the exercises that you will be learning to teach.
Requirements
- Memorize exercise names and order
- Practice teaching during weekend with fellow students
- Pass an online multiple choice anatomy exam
- Pass the practical evaluation given at the end of the program weekend
Cost

Core Mat II
Prerequisites: Core Mat I
During the Core Mat II weekend intensive, you will learn 12 new intermediate level exercises, including where to add them within the sequence of the beginner level mat class. You will also learn how to further challenge beginner level exercises and continue to develop your teaching skills. Completing the Core Mat II weekend expands the range of clients you can work with and strengthens your teaching ability.

Comprehensive Apparatus
Prerequisites: Core Mat I, Core Mat II & Basic Anatomy Course
The Comprehensive training program is our most extensive certification and covers Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level exercises utilizing all Pilates apparatus – Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Pedi Pole, and Small Apparatus – as well as understanding how to work with Special Case clients (i.e. obesity, pregnancy, back problem, neck, knee, shoulder, etc.). You will continue to utilize and build the teaching tools learned during the Core Mat I & Core Mat II weekends. You will sharpen your eye for subtle exercise modifications and master the ability to work with people of all ages and fitness levels at the same time.
Pre-Requisites
Complete the Power Pilates Core Mat I & Core Mat II trainings
Complete a basic anatomy course, within the last two years. Power Pilates offers a workshop in person and online. To purchase the download version, click here.
Suggestions for Preparation
Read Return to Life and Your Health by Joseph Pilates
Attend a minimum of 25 apparatus sessions with a classically trained instructor prior to the weekend
Requirements
- Memorize exercise names and order
- Practice teaching during weekend with fellow students
- Wear fitness clothing while apprenticing in the studio
- Attend all weekend intensives
- Attend 1 weekly Open Mat class, or practice advanced mat exercises along with a video.
- Complete and pass all exams
Cost
Tuition cost includes includes manual, weekend trainings, meetings, exams (one re-test if necessary, and apprentice hours spent observing, assisting and practice teaching.)
Length of program
5 weekends of 3 days (18 to 20 hours each)
6-12 months of apprenticing, practice and preparation for final examination
